As it turns out, being unemployed ISN'T conducive to learning a new language.

█ I wonder how easy it'll be to resume studying... Oh.
Regarding my last post, I did, in fact, manage to get a project done (by which I mean a fanfiction I'd been dilly-dallying on since June) before the end of the year, and I'm still working on art projects too... but the feeling of reward from finishing an art piece and the feeling of reward from learning something new are two different feelings. So I've been considering finally picking my Renshuu lessons up from the floor and brushing off the dust. The many, MANY layers of dust...

		█ She believes in me!
Unfortunately, I've probably been going about learning this all in the direct opposite way that I should have. Instead of learning to speak first, then write... I've been learning to write first, then speak! Which, if you're like me, and are only able to communicate with other JP speakers through text posts online, would seem like a good idea... but as is frequently the case with native English speakers trying to learn... kanji can really mess up a fella.

█ Nonono, not you babe. You're perfect.
So... maybe this is a sign I need to find some sort of schedule. Or a routine, or something to get my ass in gear and actually keep learning. Because I'd really, really love to be able to learn a foreign language, to expand my world view... and yeah, probably to tell my favorite fanartists that their work is great. Maybe mostly that.
